We delivered our Demands to the mayor’s house this morning

Press Release

Thursday July 18, 2013

Pittsburgh for Trayvon rallied together to deliver important demands for justice in the City of Pittsburgh to the mayor at 1:30 P.M. on Wednesday, July 17, 2013. City Council President Darlene Harris and the Democratic mayoral nominee Bill Peduto accepted the hand-delivered and individually addressed letters.

Mayor Luke Ravenstahl made the decision to evade personally recieving the demands delivered by over 75 people who filled the fifth floor hallway of the City County Building,  singing Trayvon’s song. Instead his assistant offered conflicting messages as to his availability and presence in the building.

Pittsburgh for Trayvon decided to claim public space as a headquarters to do necessary planning, debriefing, and follow-up to the actions of last week while waiting for the absentee public servant.

Pursuant to his unavailability to personally meet with us, we will be delivering the demands to his residence in Fineview, Thursday July 18, 2013 at 6:00 a.m.

The tweets below follow the action as it happened.
